The Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool is a system that was designed and created by Microsoft in order to implement online validation of their most recent operating systems. In one of the more recent operating systems, Windows 7, the Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) Validation Tool is renamed to Activation Technologies. The Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) validation check process does not complete when you try to validate your copy of Windows Vista, Windows XP, or Windows 2000 Professional.
I had our company IT department install a new harddrive into my laptop. But now when I'm trying to install my updates from the microsoft download site it says I don't have a valid copy of windows. I've never had this problem before and I've written down the license key from the bottom of my laptop. Can this be fixed?
I ran the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic tool as suggested in a different thread. this is what came up.

Does this help at all? I also have my original Dell XP Pro SP2 discs. Best since I got a PC at the same time as the laptop, I don't know which machine these specific disc fo to. As they are still wrapped in the celaphane, will it make a difference, or even matter?
When I go to the validation page I get the following message
'
Enter a genuine Windows product key. The product key used to activate Windows on your PC is a volume license key that has been blocked by Microsoft.'What does that mean? Why would it be blocked?
I ran the MGADiag tool and below is the report I got from the tab that says 'Windows'. The version from my COA in Windows XP Professional. The problem stqqrted as I was trying to get malware off my computer. Then I get the message 'you may be a victim of counterfeiting, etc'. Now I not only have to worry about the malwaqre but I have this validation issue. How do I get it resolved. I do not have counterfeit product on this computer and have ahd all updates and everything has been fine for over 6 years. Can anyone tell me what the next step is in getting this resolved?
