Aug 08, 2019 Having issues downloading ebooks to ADE from library. Updated ADE to 4.5.10 on Windows 10. Renamed My Digital Editions folder to OLD and created a new My Digital Editons folder. Deleted previous downloads. ADE continually fails with 'not responding'. Install Adobe Digital Editions on Windows 10, 8, 7, and XP. Select Save File to save the installer and initiate installation. Review the License Agreement, select the check box, and click Next. Select the desired options and click Next to install the software. Once the installation is complete, click Close. Select Start All Programs Adobe Digital Editions to launch the application. When viewing an ebook, Adobe Digital Editions by default stores the ebook locally as PDF files on Windows machines. These files can be copied and handled like other files, but they cannot be opened except with Adobe Digital Editions.
Our local library system uses the Adobe digital edition DRMed ePub format for its virtual book loans, and I'm trying to find some way of reading them on my phone. Tucan does a great job on other formats but does not support DRMed ePub. I have searched this forum and the web but not found anything.
1. Go to https://www.adobe.com/solutions/ebook/digital-editions/download.html and select Download Digital Edition 4.5.2 Windows (8.24MB).
2. Select Save File to save the installer and initiate installation.
5. Review the License Agreement, select the check box, and click Next.
6. Select the desired options and click Next to install the software.
8. Once the installation is complete, click Close.
9. Select Start > All Programs > Adobe Digital Editions to launch the application.
